V for Vendetta

V: They put you in a cell and took everything they could take except your life. And you believed that was all there was, didn't you? The only thing you had left was your life, but it wasn't, was it?

V for Vendetta is from the genre fantasy. It was made in 2005. The movie was directed by James McTeigue and written by Andy Wachowski and Larry Wachowski. The tagline is Remember, remember the 5th of November, the gun powder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gun powder treason should ever be forgot.

The main characters:
Nathalie Portman as Evey
Hugo Weaving as V
Stephen Rea as Inspector Finch
Stephen Fry as Deitrich

Adapted from David Lloyd's graphic novel of the same name, "V for Vendetta" tells the story of Evey Hammond and her unlikely but instrumental part in bringing down the fascist government that has taken control of a futuristic Great Britain. Saved from a life-and-death situation by a man in a Guy Fawkes mask who calls himself V, she learns a general summary of V's past and, after a time, decides to help him bring down those who committed the atrocities that led to Britain being in the shape that it is in.

My personnal rating: I would give **. Even though I miss a lot of the movie because I was gone fantasy is a genre I really don't like I maybe watched 15 minutes of the movie and it was enought to tell it was not my kind of movie. But in the little bit I watched I can say that there are a lot of symbols. I like the one when the domino fell.

My rating scale:
*The movie was really bad
**The movie was bad
***The movie was ok
****The movie was good
*****The movie was really good

The Simpsons Movie

Homer Simpsons: We have a great life here in Alaska, and we're never going back to America again!

The Simpsons is a comic movie, created in 2007 after many episodes of the show the Simpsons. The tagline of the movie is : See our family. And feel better about yours.

The movie was directed by David Silverman and written by James L Brooks and Matt Groening. There is no actor of course because the characters are not real. But there are people for their voice. Many people did more than one character. The main characters and their voices:

Homer- Dan Castellaneta
Marge-Julie Kavner
Bart-Nancy Cartwright
Margie-Nancy Cartwright
Lisa- Yeardley Smith

Synopsis: When Lisa Simpson tells the town of Springfield about their pollution problem, the town reacts and prohibits all pollution into the water. This doesn't stop Homer, who dumps a pig-waste silo into the water. Russ Cargill decides that Springfield is too dangerous and places a dome over the town, stopping anything from getting in or out. When the town people find out the true culprit behind the problem, they set out off straight for the Simpson's home. Escaping from the dome, the Simpsons decide to start a new life in Alaska, whilst the remainder of the town disappears [From Film Fan]

My personnal rating: I would give **** to this movie. I think that the movie is funny and serious at the same time. If we look at the movie many problems we have in our world now are treated in the movie. A big one, polution, is the main one in the movie. Even if they exagerate it with the dome we don't realize that our planet is "dying". The movie also make fun of the Government and it is pretty fun! I think because the characters are not real humans they can be more open with the subjects they are using and the way they show it.

My rating scale:

**The movie was bad
***The movie was ok
****The movie was good
*****The movie was really good

My Cinema Paradiso

This is our Cinema Perham High School. In the first picture you can see a person arrive at Perham, just like we did in the beginning of this schoolyear. The person seems really excited about her future as you can see, by the way she walks.

In the second picture you see a typical American meal for us. Burger and Fries. It is such a big difference between the food here and in our homecountries that all of us gained a lot of weight while we were here. It also represents the cultural differences and I still don't like this food, it's too hard for me to get used to that, almost as hard as to get used to the cultural differences. It also shows that we are in the US for a longer time now and our English got better and it became easier for us to talk.

The third picture shows us at the end of our exchange year and that we have to make the decision what to do with our life. It's like standing in front of a road with many ways to go and we all have to decide where we want to go in our lives and what we want to do. It's a long progress until we're at the point where we know what we want to do and we might even go the wrong way at first.

The last picture shows us how we see us after this year. I think we grew a lot since we're here and it made me a lot stronger, that's we we chose the sign of the Woman, because in a way we all grew up to a woman or we're a lot closer to being one now.

I think the first picture has to do something with the movie, because in the beginning little Toto is going to the movie theatre and is very excited about everything and wants to learn all the new things.

Then he "gained" wisdom about how to run the movies and everything gets easier for him there.

The third one shows him, after he met the girl and he had to decide wether he wants to wait for her or he wants to go on with life. In the end he is grown up to a Man and comes back to his home town, just like we will when we go back to Europe.
